The Colin Bayliss Research and Teaching Unit

The Colin Bayliss Research and Teaching Unit is a leading private provider of clinical trials in Perth, Western Australia. We specialize in conditions relating to arthritis and osteoporosis. We aim to provide patients with the opportunities to access novel medications to better treat their conditions and improve their quality of life.

The Colin Bayliss Research and Teaching Unit, nestled in a busy private rheumatology clinic, is headed by Dr Robert (Rob) Will, who has had over 30 years of experience in overseeing clinical trials. He has been involved in over 70 clinical trials in hospital settings and private practice. Our group was named in honour of Colin Bayliss, a well-known and much loved rheumatologist, for his work and contribution to the rheumatology field.

We conduct phase 2 – 4 clinical trials of new agents treating arthritis and a range of musculoskeletal conditions, including:

Ethical review for all clinical studies is provided by Bellberry Limited, sited in South Australia. Bellberry is a not-for-profit organization that offers high quality, independent scientific and ethical review of human studies across Australia.

We ensure our equipment hold up-to-date calibrations in accordance to Australian Medical Standards AS/NZS 3551. We partner with a number of medical services for our clinical trials, including SKG Radiology, Western Cardiology, Western Diagnostic Pathology and WA Specialist Clinic Clinipath Pathology.
